Financial Aid (FAFSA)

Did you know that you need to reapply for FAFSA every year? If you haven't applied for 2008, you can still complete an application. Should the fund still have money, you have a chance.

Come January 01, 2009, submit another application or update your previous one and submit. REMEMBER, everyone should apply even if you don't think you qualify. The reason is that most scholarships will request your student aid report (SAR) or your last tax returns. It is better to send a copy of the SAR than to have your tax returns in too many hands.

Hello. Thats good to know. I think I was emailed a SAR report but their are a few things I don't understand on it. I filled out my FAFSA a couple months ago and am waiting for the results.

If you have not completed FAFSA for 2007/2008, please do so as soon as possible. Most of the scholarhip applications will require either your student aid report or your tax returns.

Be sure to save your online application so that you can reapply January 01, 2009. Applying online is the only way to go. It is faster and 14% more accurate.

I live with my parents and the FAFSA said that my parents were responsible for paying around $13,000 for my education even though we seem to struggle with finances every once in a while. Will the amount it says they are responsible to pay effect how many scholarships I will be accepted for?

I have filled out the FAFSA every year that I have attended college and I don't get help because I still live with my parents and they have a high income. This has been the first semester that I have gotten a BOG wavier for filling out the FAFSA, it helps out a lot.

I havent been able to fill up the FAFSA because my parents live in Mexico and they have never filed taxes before, so there is important information I dont have. Is my parents information really necessary?

I had applied to fafsaalready but since my contribution went up an extra 1,000 dollars I was denied financial aide. Yet, I planned ahead and saved some money in time for the new school year.
