Security Tips from Edelman Financial Services

Don't be the victim of Identity Theft

    1. Security:  Use a privacy protection service. If your purse or wallet is stolen, they can help make sure what's stolen isn't used to steal your identity.
    2. Credit Cards:  Keep your credit card numbers and the companies' phone numbers in a list at home.  Carry only one card with you -- not all of your cards.
    3. Bank Accounts:  Keep a list at home of your bank accounts.  If your security is breached, have the numbers changed.
    4. Health Insurance:  Keep duplicates of your health insurance cards at home.
    5. Passport:  Never carry this with you unless you're leaving the country.  (And when you are traveling overseas, keep a copy at home, and carry a copy with you, and put it in the hotel safe.)
    6. Lighten the Load:  Don't carry anything you don't need with you.  Leave at home your Social Security card, safe deposit box key and other possessions.
    7. Carry a piece of paper that lists emergency contact info for a spouse, family member, friend or neighbor.  If you're injured and unable to communicate, that list will tell first responders who to call.

Pick Yourself Up & Keep Going

Don't accept falling or failing at something as defeat.  The important thing is to pick yourself up, brush yourself off and start all over again.

Inspiration for the Day

Your Inspiration For Today!
"Your goal in life should be to enjoy the highest levels of health and energy possible. This requires that you eat the right foods and fewer of them. It requires you to get regular exercise and move every joint of your body daily. To enjoy superb physical health, you must get lots of rest and recreation. Above all, you maintain a positive mental attitude, looking for the good in every situation, and remain determined to be a completely positive person."

Lessons to be Learned

When life seems truly bad, we can moan and groan, or we can -- even in the midst of anger, terror, confusion, and pain -- tell ourselves, "There must be a lesson in here someplace!"

The Road to Happiness

Quote for January 8th

It seems that somewhere around eighteen (give or take ten years), something in us decides, "That's it, I've had it, I'm done.  I know all I need to know. I'm not learning any more."

A thirst for knowledge is so much more exciting -- give it a try.

Quote: How to live.

That our educational system is not designed to teach us the "secrets of life" is no secret.  In school, we learn how to do everything--except how to live.
