Woman's Day Contest

Although scholarships are the major source of money for college, don't overlook the many opportunites for cash via magazine contests.

 

The September issue of Woman's Day has a 1st prize of $5,000, 2nd place of $500 American Express Gift Card and ten runner-up winners will receive $100 in American Cexpress Gift Cards.

 

OK, so this is what you need to do:

Then read the magazine and tell them what you liked and what you didn't like.  What topics do you wish they would cover?

Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant 2014

Scholarships:
Queen Scheherazade   $3,500
Princess Dunyazade    $3,000
Princess Jasmine         $3,000

Deadline:  October 09, 2013

Rules:  Girl must be at least 17 years of age by November 23, 2013 and not have reached the age of 22 by February 14, 2014.

Does not feature a talent or swimsuit competition.

1. Must not have been a previous queen.
2. 3.0 GPA
3. You will need official transcripts so order one ASAP.
4. You will need a birth certificate and/or a driver's license as legal proof of age.
5. Proof of citizenship
6. A color portrait photograph at least 5 x 7.
7. An essay describing your interests and goals.

Margo's Scholarship

Margo's scholarship will be offered again this fall 2013. It is for $400 and open to all COD students.
The deadline is October 15, 2013.  Pick up a copy from me in my office (Counseling).

Democratic Women of the Desert Scholarships

I recently heard from the Democratic Women of the Desert with wonderful news.  This year they have increased their scholarships to five awards and the amount of each scholarship is $500.

 

Last year several of our students received awards of about $250.

 

This year the deadline is November 01, 2013 so don't delay completing your application.  Please return to this site tomorrow for access information.
