Margo's Scholarship

To date, no one has applied for the Margo Scholarship.  This is another scholarship that is fairly easy to complete.  The winner should have their $400 award by the first week in December.

Democratic Women of the Desert Scholarships

If you haven't already applied, the deadline for these three scholarships is November 2, 2012.  It is a fairly easy application, but you do need two Letters of Recommendation.  Most students have a good chance at winning.  These are being offered ONLY for COD students.

Microsoft Scholarships for Undergraduates

Microsoft is offering four different types of technical scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year to current undergraduate students.
 
  • General Scholarships
  • Women's Scholarships
  • Minority Scholarships
  • Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

A Microsoft scholarship provides a leg up so you can pursue undergraduate studies in computer science and related technical disciplines.  You'll join a community of scholarship recipients from the United States, Canada and Mexico who share your passion for technology and academic excellence.  It all adds up to achieving your primary goal--making a real difference in the software industry.
 
To be eligible:
  1. You must be enrolled full time in a Bachelor's degree program at a 4-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico at the time you submit the application.
  2. Making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering or a relate technical discipline such as electrical engineering, math or physics--and that you demonstrate an interest in computer science.
  3. Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
International students are eligible if they are currently studying in North America and meet the criteria for scholarship eligibility.  You can apply regardless of your citizenship.

Udall College Scholarships

Deadline: March 01, 2013

Scholarships are offered in any of three categories:
  1. Commitment to careers related to the environment including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, economics, and other related fields.  OR
  2. Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to tribal public policy, including fields related to tribal sovereignty, tribal governance, tribal law, Native American education, Native American justice, natural resource management, cultural preservation and revitalization.  Native American economic development and other areas affecting Native American communities; OR
  3. Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to Native health care, including health care administration, social work, medicine, dentistry, counseling and research into health conditions affecting Native American communities and other related fields.
Eligibility:
Be a matriculated sophomore or junior-level student at a two-year or four-year accredited institution of higher education, pursuing a  bachelor's or associate's degree the 2012-2013 academic year.

Eligibility:

Applicants must--
  • Be residents of the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
  • Be graduating high school seniors (U.S. and Puerto Rico), graduating from grade 12 (Canada) or graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent
  • Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire 2012-13 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico
